A Delicious and Healthy Green Smoothie

Yesterday my teen son asked me why I have so many junk food recipes on my blog when we eat so many vegetables.  I thought that was so funny!  He told me I needed to put up some posts about our smoothies and salads so I am obliging.

We have a Green Smoothie first thing in the morning every day.  Well, first thing I have hot lemon water, and then usually a pot cup of coffee, but then I have a Green Smoothie.  It’s important to drink it on an empty stomach because it is much faster to digest than other foods and if you eat something slower to digest like eggs first, your smoothie will just sit on top of the eggs and could start fermenting and make you bloaty and uncomfortable.

I love knowing that whatever happens the rest of the day, my kids have had more fruits and vegetables than most people eat in a week.  My kids actually love and crave their morning green smoothie.

Use organic produce whenever possible!
