Simple Bibimbap Recipe

While the ingredient list for this may seem long, it is actually a very quick dish to throw together once you have prepared the components. For an even faster dish, you can find seasoned vegetables and sauce for bibimbap at almost any Korean market.

It makes a great lunch or dinner. You can even have it for breakfast! The bibimbap pictured above was one I made for Darling Baby’s breakfast in a teacup with a quail egg!

  1. 1 pastured egg, fried or over easy
For the Rice
  1. Short Grain White Rice (we use this brand)
  2. Filtered Water
For the Beef
  1. 2 lbs Grass-fed Ground Beef
  2. 1/4 cup sesame oil (buy it here)
  3. 1/4 cup coconut aminos (buy them here)
  4. 2 cloves garlic, minced
  1. 2 organic carrots (peeled and shredded)
  2. Seasoned Spinach (recipe here)
  3. Seasoned Bean Sprouts (recipe here)
  1. Rinse rice. Soak rice in filtered water for a half hour. Then bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes, or until all water has been absorbed. Fluff with a fork.
  2. Combine ground beef, sesame oil and garlic. Marinate, refrigerated and covered, 30 minutes to 8 hours.
  3. Brown beef in a cast iron skillet.
To Assemble
  1. Fill a large bowl with 1/4 of the rice.
  2. Place fried egg on top.
  3. Around the egg, place a large helping of beef, carrots, bean sprouts and spinach.
  1. Garnish with this sauce, or you can use Sriracha
